2012 Entry Form
We are delighted to confirm that we have our minimum entry so we will now be
accepting entries until Friday 4th May 2012. Once the maximum number of 50
vehicles is reached we will operated a waiting list. All entries are on a first
come first served basis
After the utterly phenomenal response from the competitors and marshals at our
June 2011 event we are delighted to announce the dates and format of our 24
hour, Endurance style event for 2012.
We have stepped back from the purity of the 'Le Mans' style 24 hour event for
logistical and safety reasons but the event will still run for 24 hours out of a
total of 30 hours over the weekend.
- The event is to be simply called "The Scotia Winch Challenge 2012" aka
"Scotia 2012"
- To be held on the weekend of 8th-10th June 2012 at Griffin Forest,
Aberfeldy
- It will be run for 24 hours over 2 days (24 out of 32 hours)
- Saturday 0800 to 2300 (15 hours) - hog-roast or similar during the
evening as part of the entry fee and free for marshals. Hangers on £tbc
- Sunday 0700 to 1600 (9 hours)
- 2 classes of vehicle/team:
- Standard class
- 2 vehicle teams MAX 20 TEAMS
- vehicles as per 2011 - standard configuration axles, no rear
wheel steer, tyres under 38.5" as marked
- Unlimited class
- Single vehicle entry
- Any MSA compliant vehicle - wheelbase >53", separate engine
compartment with sealed bulkhead, single person seats - for more
details ask
- NB: This class is open to standard vehicles if they want
- basic format is the same as 2011
- a large number of punches roughly equivalent to 2 punches per team
- set out in 4 or 5 discrete areas within the forest
- large amount of off road driving
- almost no navigation
- mix of shorter technical driven sections, longer winch/technical and
very long driven sections
- Entries
- limited to a maximum of 50 vehicles with ideal mix of 20 standard
and 10 unlimited teams
- Minimum entry of 30 vehicles to be reached by end of October 2011 or
the event may be cancelled
- Entry fees of £200 per vehicle to be paid as follows:
- £100 on submission of entry forms - returnable if minimum entry
is not reached OTHERWISE NON-RETURNABLE
- £100 balance by the end of February 2012
